What Is a High Voltage Dry Type Transformer?
A high voltage dry type transformer operates at medium distribution voltages – typically 6 kV to 35 kV – using cast-resin or air insulation instead of oil. It brings fire safety and low maintenance to HV distribution indoors.
These transformers serve HV substations, commercial complexes, hospitals, airports, metros and industrial plants where oil-filled units are restricted by fire or environmental regulations.
- 6-35 kV class – high voltage dry-type units for indoor distribution.
- Cast resin insulation – vacuum-cast epoxy for moisture and pollution protection.
- Fire-safe operation – no oil, suitable for occupied and safety-critical buildings.
- 50,000m² factory – in-house winding, casting, curing and testing.
- 350+ employees – engineering, production and export teams.
- OEM / ODM & wholesale – custom branding, packaging and volume pricing.
Main Types of High Voltage Dry Type Transformers
We build two HV dry-type types:
SCB cast resin
Epoxy-encapsulated windings for 6-35 kV indoor substations.
SCBH amorphous
Amorphous core HV dry-type for ultra-low no-load losses.

High Voltage Dry Type vs Oil Immersed Transformers
Oil-immersed HV transformers are lower in first cost but require fire protection, oil containment and periodic oil maintenance. HV dry-type units are higher in first cost but eliminate those requirements for the life of the asset.
For indoor, urban and safety-critical HV installations, the dry-type choice reduces risk and long-term cost.

Choosing a High Voltage Dry Type Transformer Manufacturer
HV dry-type transformers live or die on partial discharge performance and thermal design. Verify type test reports, factory audit access and reference projects at the same voltage class.
Subian Electric offers a 50,000m² factory, 350+ employees, ISO9001, CE and UL certification and export to 50+ countries with in-house vacuum casting.
